The very first origins of Halloween can be found in ancient rites linked to seasonal changes, in harvest festivals , and in rural cults in which attempts were made to exorcise those ancestral fears that accompanied ancient civilizations based on agriculture : fear of losing children, of losing the harvest, fear of natural disasters. These ancient traditions in which man attempted to familiarize himself with things such as death, the afterlife, the unknown are undoubtedly at the origin of the history of Halloween .
The advent of Christianity did not completely erase these holidays, but in many cases it overlapped with them, giving them contents and meanings different from the original ones.
